• 2nd shift hours are 3pm to 1:30am Monday-Friday
• Pay between $23.57 and $26.83 an hour based on years of experience

As a production welder you are responsible for hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

• Weld components in flat or vertical positions
• Examine workpieces for defects
• Measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work in an environment that is not environmentally controlled, including very hot conditions in the summer months and little heat in the winter. May also include being exposed to high place, using ladders or scaffolds, and working with hazardous equipment and under hazardous conditions on a daily basis. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including earplugs, safety glasses and/or goggles, steel toe boots/shoes, weld helmet, welding gloves, work gloves, and a welding jacket or protective welding sleeves.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited school is required. Accreditation should be from the US Department of Education approved agency. Will be verified by 3rd party.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

American Welding Society certified is preferred but passing the company's welding certification is required.

Process = GMAW - Pulse(commonly incorrectly referred to as MIG)

Shielding Gas = Argon/CO2 (92/8 mix)

Transfer Mode -Spray

Position = 2G (Horizontal)

Test Material =A36 plate - 1" thick - single V-Groove/ Single Bevel 45 degrees - w/backing

Root opening= 1/4"

Test Method = Guided bend (Not X-RAY)

Acceptance Criteria = AWS D1.1 compliance

20 question written test on your blueprint reading and welding symbol knowledge
